Description
"1. A native house where we entertain strangers. 2. Our house where we live (rear view). 3. Garage and stone room - rear view 4. Orville's house under tree 5. Corner of grass roof on Elaine's room where she now keeps part of tiny babies - we keep 6 at other house because we have not enough room in (5) 6. a timber of the eating and cooking house we are building 7. New veranda foundations 8. Citrus fruit orchard. Long foundation 100' x 20 to new unit. (walls are up ready for roof now)" A labeled and numbered view of the Kalomo mission compound where Orville and Augusta Brittell, American missionaries from Churches of Christ to Zambia, worked. John Sherriff and W. N. Short, American missionaries from Churches of Christ, began the mission in 1922. Orville Brittell joined them in 1939 and married Augusta Scott, daughter of George and O. R. Scott who were also missionaries from Churches of Christ who worked at the mission station.
