Photograph caption reads, "Los Angeles is happy to welcome the Democratic National Convention and the thousands of visitors it is bringing to our community. The 1960 Democratic National Convention is the first such meeting ever to be held in Los Angeles. The entire world, at this momentous point in history, is watching our nation go through the democratic process of selecting nominees for president, and Los Angeles will receive unprecedented attention from all parts of the world. Billions of persons around the globe will read, see, or hear what happens in our city. Every citizen joins me in wishing a happy visit to each delegate, committeeman, family member, newsman, and other guests associated with the Democratic National Convention. Norris Poulson, Mayor."
