Description
James McDonald, shown astride his strawberry mare, was named the first Marshall of Mill Valley when the city incorporated in 1900. He cleaned out the illegal saloons. His residence was 204 Throckmorton Avenue. This photo was taken in Old Mill Park. On the right is part of the Old Mill and the large redwood stump, which was still there in 2007.
