Contents of a reflective narrative report by McFarling while at Granada (Amache). Describes his intermediary role at the incarceration camp. Discuses his analyses of feelings of distrust and dislike between personnel and incarcerees and varying degrees of acceptance of incarceration by age groups. Discusses incarcerees' anger and resentment of forced "registration". Describes incarcerees' resentment and rejection of resettlement policies as well as rejection of resettlement in general. Summarizes conflicts among incarcerees who left camp for employment and those who stayed at the camp as well as a distaste for certain jobs. Discusses problems with authority in higher offices as rigid and demonstrating exclusivity in developing policies, driving rejection of resettlement policies by incarcerees. Describes population by age, sex and citizenship. The narrative dedicates pages 12-16 to describing formation of community governing bodies-- Block Managers and the Community Council, tensions between the Nisei and Issei in assuming governance roles and general politics of these bodies.
