Description
A group of Contra soldiers stand in line along a country road near the Honduras-Nicaragua border. The Contras are carrying an assorted variety of weapons including FN FAL assault rifles and Kalashnikov-type rifles. The Contra on the left of the image has his FN FAL assault rifle raised in the air and smiles. He is wearing an olive green cap and a bandolier across his chest. They are all members of the NIcaraguan Democratic Force (FDN in Spanish), whose members are informally known as "Contras."
