Description
Photograph of a starboard bow view of the gambling ship Johanna Smith anchored off Long Beach and San Pedro, ca.1931. The large ship is at center and is facing towards the right. A large smokestack is spewing black smoke at the stern of the vessel, and two large masts are visible as well. About midships can be seen the landing platform for the shore boats. The ocean in the foreground is very rough, with choppy whitecaps moving across the image from left to right.
