Description
"In the mid-1910s, founding members of the California Almond Growers Exchange, Harry Dewey (middle, back row) and Harold Dewey (second to last on the right) met with Gov. Hiram Johnson (middle, holding a hat). Members from nine associations in Antelope, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Davis, Capay, Sutter County, Live Oak, Oakley, and San Joaquin County formed the cooperative on May 7, 1910. Today the cooperative, known as Blue Diamond, includes 230 of California's almond growers and has 4,000 grower members."
