Carolina Biquard writes to Peter Drucker to update him on events in Argentina and Fundación Compromiso. She begins by telling him about the current government, which she compares to "a sort of Russian Mafia." She mentions terrible kidnappings and that the Piqueteros are becoming a form of urban guerrilla. The piqueteros of Argentina are organizations of unemployed workers who fight for social changes, using direct action, especially 'piquetes', or blockades. Carolina assures Drucker that her and her family are safe, despite the instability of the nation. In the second half of the letter she discusses Fundación Compromiso's sponsors, SWIFT and the Ford Foundation. They have also received an invitation of a partnership with "Clarin," an Argentinean newspaper. The Avina Foundation sent them the funds for their Self Financing Program, which is similar to their Self Assessment Tool, but focused on financial development. She ends by telling Drucker that while she was in New York, she was able to convince the Tinker Foundation to support their Escuelas por el Cambio program.
