Description
Bronze doors designed and built by Henry Van Wolf of Van Nuys, at the entrance of Saint Nicholas' Episcopal Church, located at 17114 Ventura Boulevard in Encino. The doors, dedicated in 1957, represent people relating to God through the Christian sacraments: holy orders (directly below arch), baptism (top left), confirmation (middle left), holy Eucharist (bottom left), matrimony (top right), penance (middle right), holy unction (bottom right). The original California Mission style church was built in 1939 and remodeled in 1996 by J. Todd Campbell.
