Description
This 1932 photograph shows members of the Arcade Golf Club, standing behind the Arcade Golf Course Clubhouse. Located between Auburn Boulevard and Arcade Creek, and within Del Paso Park, the course was founded in 1916 as the area’s first municipal golf course, while the club was founded in 1923. The nine-hole course – much of it layered with dirt, as opposed to grass – would fold within a year after this photograph was taken, having many of its members drawn to a new course two miles away in the Sacramento Municipal Golf Course, later to be named Haggin Oaks.
