Description
The Southern Pacific Railroad tunnel that ran under Ocean Avenue, shown here where it meets the beach in Santa Monica, California. Stairs next to the tunnel led to the North Beach Bath House.
Title devised by cataloger based on information for similar images published in "Port Los Angeles" (1975) (p. 42, 106) by Ernest Marquez. The tunnel was created in 1892 by Southern Pacific. Date approximated by cataloger based on style of photograph.
