Description
Photograph of the fish harbor on Terminal Island, San Pedro, April 1934. Many small fishing boats can be seen moored along a wharf that runs from the left into the background at right. The boats are mostly small vessels with long booms attached near the sterns. Larger ships can be seen in the distance. A packing plant can be seen behind the boats at right, while several tall wooden buildings on stilts rise above the boats along the wharf. Ramps lead from the buildings to other buildings further from the water. The water in the harbor in the foreground is calm and partially reflects the image of the boats. Names on the boats include, from left: "Kii", "Satsuki", "Vernie", "Neptune", "Western Spirit", "Asama", "Acalin", "Congress", and "Amazon".
