The Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture is a two-year community college in Woodland Hills, California. It opened in September 1947, with 70 students and 18 faculty members and is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The school's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry, and still retains a large swatch of open fields for hands-on working farm training. In 1956 the school was renamed Los Angeles Pierce College.
Photograph caption dated May 7, 1957 reads, "These Pierce Junior College coeds will be among more distracting spectators at school's eighth annual Roundup next weekend which will include two-day National Intercollegiate Rodeo. Events for women will be included for first time this year. From left are Sheila Engle, 21; Jan Peters, 19; Tina Rocco, 18; Debbie Buffington, 19; Jackie De Witt, 19; Darlene Walters, 21, and Alison Redner, 19, roundup queen."
