The Public Drugs drugstore, 656 American Avenue in Long Beach, has an awning over its entrance. A tiled sign above the awning advertises Coca Cola. An AT&T emblem on the side of the building indicates a phone within. Two magazine stands, one on each side of the door, sell the newspaper, The Long Beach Sun, as well as magazines such as Colliers, Popular Mechanics, Love Story, Film Fun, Racketeer, Amazing Stories, etc. A poster in the window advertises "The endocrine gland, free illustrated health and rejuvenation lectures by E. Thomas" to be held March 10th at 8 p.m.
