Description
Photograph of a view of Wilshire Boulevard, looking west from Mariposa Street, showing the Blue Cross building, ca.1953. The paved lanes of Wilshire Boulevard, dotted by automobiles, run from the right foreground into the background. To the left of the street is a large expanse of concrete squares, behind which sit three high-rise buildings and a sign reading "Bank of America". On the right side of the street sits a building with a tall, bell tower-like structure, bearing a sign which reads "Blue Cross". Palm trees are visible throughout the image, while other buildings are visible in the distant background.
