Photograph was edited for publication purposes Originally known as the Hebrew Sheltering Home for the Aged, the Jewish Home for the Aging was founded in Boyle Heights in 1912. About four years later, the Home's first permanent facility was built on Boyle Avenue, where it existed for decades. In 1967, acreage in Reseda was purchased and a facility was built on Victory Boulevard. A merger in 1979 with the Menorah Village created a second campus on Tampa Avenue in Reseda. Photograph caption dated October 26, 1955 reads, "A delightful tea will highlight Saturday's musical at the home of Mrs. Alvin Sims, left. Among those who will attend are pictured here from right, Mmes. Milton Scott, Edwin Rand, Ilmari Ronka and Silvia Crum. Proceeds are earmarked for California Home for the Aged in Reseda."
