Ernie Smith, airmail pilot, and navigator Emory Bronte (a merchant marine captain) flew in Travel Air 500 high-wing monoplane from Oakland airport to island of Molokai where crash landed. Left Oakland airport on July 14, 1927, returned July 28th, 1927.
