Description
Photograph of convicts grading a railroad in North Carolina, ca.1920. To the right of center, a ditch full of men in striped clothing is visible into the distance. One man stands to the left of center on top of a hill of dirt with what appears to be a shovel in his hands. Three men stand to the right of the ditch in what seems to be supervisory positions. In the background, trees are visible along with a few houses.
