Description
"Der Helfer Josefu hält eine Rede. Zur Grundsteinlegung von Lusubilo." ("The assistant Josefu is holding a speech on the occasion of the laying of the cornerstone of Lusubilo."). In the center a preacher wearing white clothes. He is holding a book in his hand, presumably a Bible or prayerbook. He is surrounded by people sitting on the ground.
Cf. photo no. 10515. -- Werner Hauffe (1909-1982) was a carpenter and later a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. From 1933 to 1939, he served in Rungwe, Utengule and Isoko. In Utengule, he was an assistant to Brother Gemuseus. In 1937 he married Irmgard Wolff.
