Description
Shown is a postcard dating to between 1950 and 1959 and featuring Folsom Union High School which opened in October of 1922 under the direction of Principal C.L. Hargrave and assistant Miss M. Crosno. The decision to form a school district for Folsom occurred too late in the year to secure a building for the new high school so the new district’s trustees rented the Folsom Methodist Church for the freshman class, allowing the older students to remain in San Juan High School. Preparations for the church’s use as a school included lowering the ceiling, and the installation of partitions to separate the main church room from the area which housed two classrooms.
