Corner view with street in foreground and corner building faces to the left of the corner; corner 1 story building has entrance with roof above entrance flanked by a vertical window on each side; on right side of street another wooden building appears attached and juts out further on the sidewalk; large treeless trees on right side march down the sidewalk; on left side is a 2 story wooden house with balcony on 2nd floor; a man has begun to cross the street; to left of 2 story wooden house is side of another building.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Old Church building, erected in 1854... House along side', torn down, June 1938.' lumber came around the horn'."
