Description
Photograph of an interior view of the ruins of the Mission San Fernando, ca.1887. The main chapel is shown, looking west towards the front entrance. The roof has fallen through, and while the roof beams remain intact, many of the terracotta shingles have fallen to the floor inside the chapel. Shafts of light also shine through the rickety door at the end of the corridor, over which a square window can be seen. Spackle is peeling off the walls to either side. In the left foreground, a mound of dirt and debris can be seen.
