1989-1203. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 7. View of a white building with a dark band at street level; the entrance has a tall double entrance with two men leaning each against the side of the doorway; the entrance section is lower than the two adjoining sections; the section on the left has a wide opening with a tall arched window on its right; the right section beside the entry section has three tall arched windows; beside this right section on its right is another shorter section which appears to hold another entryway into the building; a man sits by this section. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Old City Water-works, erected in 1873., now used as the 'recreation center' for transients."
