Description
Shown in 1927, as seen from the east, is the "Montgomery Way Oak." The 60-foot-high valley oak sat on the property of 2751 Montgomery Street until September 1996, when it was removed because of decay, leaving a two-foot-high stump. The city gave most of the wood to an adjacent property owner for firewood. An automobile is parked to the left of the tree and Curtis Park sits off in the distance.
