Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated December 27, 1960 partially reads, "A small ceramic angel, the work of one of the nation's leading Lutheran theologians, is on display at Valley Lutheran Church of North Hollywood, 7400 Tujunga Ave., and will be the theme of the Christmas Eve service tonight. Titled 'Angel Unawares,' the figurine was made by Dr. Alfred Ewald, president of Warburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, and will be pictured on the January cover of the new magazine, 'Lutheran Standard,' published by The American Lutheran Church. Dr. Ewald's angel resembles 'a humble servant - a poorly-clad laborer wearing a cap, grey coat and unpressed trousers.'"
