A man with a long beard and wide-brimmed hat stands in front of a thick grove of banana trees, presumably on the property of horticulturist Joseph Wolfskill in Los Angeles, California. Title derived from Watkins New Series stereo #4383. Date devised by cataloger; Watkins made two trips to Southern California, in 1877 and 1880. Man in photo is possibly Carleton Watkins. Title printed on stereo #4383 is spelled "Wolfskell," but the correct spelling is Wolfskill.
