Photograph caption dated August 14, 1962 reads "The photo was made at Vanowen and Hazeltine in Van Nuys. Two yellow- and two red-wrapped tires are strung together, chain fashion. If you know exactly how it was done, drive in to Bob Bell's Chevron station right there on the corner, and explain it. The first five Valley readers in with the correct answer will receive a free lube job and/or free brake adjustment."
