Description
This circa 1950 postcard shows the administration building of the Capitol Inn and Motel, located one-and-a-half miles west of Sacramento, on the Davis Highway. The complex was built in 1945/46 and cost 400,000 dollars. Features of the 120-unit spot included 30 by 90 foot swimming pool (accompanied by a beach), a restaurant, and plant-wide air-conditioning. The faux dome measured some 60 feet high, from base to tip.
