Description
Alice Samaniego at 24 has so much perceptivity she can teach 155 teenagers with her eyes closed. A tricky feat, indeed, it is doubly impressive when you consider she has been blind since the age of 8. But her vision is as clear as that of any teacher concerned with communicating the world of higher English to numbers of insatiable sophomores, quenching the inevitable questions ("Will there be a test Monday?"). Here she instructs a class with her faithful guide dog Kora sitting patiently beside her. The school is not identified. Photo date: April 14, 1983.
