Description
A student in Peter Drucker’s course on the information-based organization discusses his interest in distributing Chinese children’s books in the United States. Drucker shares that there had been a thriving market in German language books in the United State prior to World War I. Drucker asks how children will learn to read and write Chinese. He adds that children who have to attend Japanese school on Saturdays resent it. The audience members add their suggestions. Bob Schulze, another student, shares that he spent two days observing the shelves of accounts and asking about trends. Drucker states that it is important to start with what the public buys, and not with one’s own products.
