Description
Photograph of an old adobe built by Jose Perez south of the Hotel Raymond in South Pasadena, ca.1900. The one-story adobe, awaiting restoration, is in relatively good repair. Obscured by some tree foliage to the right, the roof shows little sign of holes, and the door and window frames appear sturdy and secure. After the restoration, Perez sold the adobe to General Garfias. General Pico and General Flores later met at the adobe to plan the battle between Hispano-California and the Americans in 1847. Later, the home passed into the hands of a Dr. Griffith.
