Description
The Sixth Infantry Division was reactivated in the fall of 1950 at Fort Ord, where Williams was sent for basic training in 1950-51. Although never deployed in Korea as an entity, the Sixth provided personnel for combat. Fort Ord was a United States Army post in Monterey, California used for military training beginning in 1917, becoming a Fort in 1941 and remaining so until 1994. complete;
