Interview by Jan Hutchins of KCBS. Farrell, former political writer and editor at the San Jose Mercury, and Hallman, KCBS morning weather and traffic expert discuss the growth of San Jose in the 20th century, changing from agriculture to technology and industry. During this time period San Jose rapidly annexed a large area of land and changed the landscape dramatically, as City Managers like A. P. "Dutch" Hamann exerted influence. The Mercury News and KCBS saw their services and subscriptions change as a result. Includes original radio commercials.
