Description
Caption reads: "For the first time, the old Parrott's Ferry Bridge is under water. The level of the New Melones Reservoir on the Stanislaus River has been rising at about a foot a day. Outflow from New Melones Dam has been limited to 500 cubic feet per second due to the swollen San Joaquin River system. The agreed upon high water mark was 808 feet, but the river was at about 844 feet Friday when the bridge was inundated. The water may keep rising until sometime in June, when the outflow can catch up with the inflow and the level can be dropped back to 808 feet."
