Description
Photograph article dated October 18, 1947 reads, "Police booked Floyd Fred Host, 34, and his wife Magdalene, 19 of 502 S. Main St., on suspicion of child beating last night after city doctors found that their 4-month-old son, Floyd Frank Host, had a skull fracture and an internal hemorrhage. Both parents denied maltreating their only child. Juvenile Officers O. D. Northrup and G. P. Fluhr investigated the case after Mrs. Host took the child to Georgia Street Receiving Hospital yesterday for medical treatment. Mrs. Host said she left the baby with an acquaintance while she and her husband worked as waitress and porter in cafes. Thursday night she noticed marks on the baby's face but he appeared well until yesterday, she said. The child was reportedly in critical condition in General Hospital."
