Photograph of Sioux Indians "skinning out a steer after a beef issue", [s.d.]. The dead steer is on the ground at center. Two Indian men with hats and aprons on have begun skinning it, starting with the legs. There is a dog in the foreground near the head of the steer. There is a large group of Indians gathered around the steer, and most are wearing a combination of Western and Indian clothing. One man at right is wearing a feather headdress. A man is holding a baby at right.
