Church of Papetoaï, Moorea island A stone octagonal building. Mountains in the background. Comment : Papetoaï, on Mooréa island was the place of residence of the royal family of Pomare. It became the administrative center till the beginning of the XXth century. The church is rebuilt in 1887 at the same emplacement of the first Church on the Society Islands.
