Reverend Herbert Lewis Octavia Williams was the first principal of the Uzuakoli Institute (the Methodist College after 1931) which was founded by the Church Missionary Society in 1923. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital, a medical facility run by the Methodist Missionary Society.
