Photograph caption date stamped May 4, 1959 reads, "Reseda's Gary Comer breaks tape for 10.1-second timing in first heat of 100-yard dash during Valley League preliminaries yesterday at Van Nuys High School. Comer also won his 'specialty,' the 440, as Reseda dominated meet and qualified 16 men. Others in picture, from left, are Rocky Hudak, Van Nuys; Dennis Johansen, San Fernando, and Earl Bender, North Hollywood, who finished third in this heat."
