View of 10 miners working on the hydraulic and elevating works in Slate Creek near La Porte and the St. Louis Bridge in Sierra and Plumas Counties. Shows tunnel and flumes with pipes on the hillside above the creek, near the lower end of the last 2 1/4 miles of the Alturas Mine. Slate Creek Gravel Gold Mining Company, the Alturas Mine and English Company mentioned in hand written note on verso; view 2, Schubert photo no. 403.
