Photograph of an exterior view of the Polytechnic High School on Washington Street, Los Angeles, ca.1898-1905. The building is between Hope Street and Flower Street. The principally three-story stone Greek-revival building has a grand portico entrance at the head of a broad set of stairs at right. The words, "Polytechnic High School" are etched into the building above the pillars at the front entrance. The street in front is wet and muddy. Utility poles and lines are visible overhead.
