Description
B. Inoue, of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., writes Mr. C. W. Protzman, Sr., saying that he recently received a letter from Mr. Hopper, with whom he has been exchanging letters since Protzman introduced Hopper to him. He reports that Hopper would like to visit Japan this summer to study current Japanese management and Inoue informs him that he is enclosing recent letters they have exchanged. Inoue suggests that Protzman come to Japan. The letter contains Inoue's original signature. In a letter dated June 8, 1979, Inoue writes Kenneth Hopper saying that Hopper's visit to Japan will be the best plan for his study on better understanding how great the industrial management forum conducted by SCAP (Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers) in 1949 and 1950 influenced the development of Japanese industry since then. Inoue says that he would like to explain how the CCS (Civil Communications Section) management forum influenced the development of the Japanese economy and the so-called Japanese form of management based on the CCS seminars. He goes on to say that he is enclosing his personal history and Sumitomo addresses in New York and Los Angeles for his reference. In a May 17th, 1979 letter, Kenneth Hopper writes Mr. Bunzaemon Inoue of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., saying that he is planning to visit Japan to learn about the CCS and its seminars. He goes on to discuss the writer Servan-Schreiber and his predictions regarding the American take-over of the industrial world.
