Description
Peter Bart discusses his novel, “Dangerous Company.” He begins by explaining that he is the editor-in-chief of Variety Magazine. He says that his book is based on real people he knows in Hollywood, but that he changed their names. He talks about how the book revolves around people in the motion picture industry who have moved into a subdivision together. He discusses what happens when Hollywood actors age and begin to get fewer roles. Bart says he wrote the book as a collection of short stories, and each chapter is told from another character’s perspective. He ends the interview by talking about the future of Hollywood and how films have changed because people’s access to entertainment has improved. The interview was probably taped in 2003.
