Description
Detailed, close-up view of baby carrier (Daim Nyias, Dlaim Hlaab Nyas) centerpiece featuring a unique design. Red and yellow appliqué has been applied to the hook (tus khawb) and fence (laj kab) designs. Typically the appliqué is applied in a monochromatic fabric. Typed label affixed to the mat board beneath the photograph reads, "Baby-carrier center, after appliqué[sic] has been sewn down. The baby-carrier colors are usually red, yellow, white, or green appliqué on the indigo batik base cloth." Date derived from stamp on mat board verso. Notes on verso read: "HMong Baby Carrier #8 (Photo 8),Lewis Judy, *HMO.4055.00* Fall 2002 [printed label, upper left verso]; HMO.
