Description
Postcard shows a photo of the steel deck of the bridge being lifted from barges in the bay and hoisted to the suspending cables, on January 5, 1936. The decking was completed to Yerba Buena Island three months later. Its two levels enclosed an area 58 feet wide and 76 feet high. This postcard was made to commemorate the 50 year anniversiary of the bridge, started in 1933 and finished in 1936. Number 9 of a 10 postcard limited edition set.
