Photograph article dated September 14, 1948 partially reads, "Thirty-six youngsters went to school today boasting new wristwatches, roller skates or flashlights as prizes won in the pet parade sponsored by the Canoga Park Lions Club. The parade, launched as part of the back-to-school program, was open to 'kids from anywhere and pets of any kind.' The 36 prizes awarded were donated by merchants in the community." Kids marched from Keller's Feed Store on Canoga Ave. west on Sherman Way to Vassar Ave. In this photograph, a young girl can be seen walking with her sheep.; See image #00136420 for additional photo in this series.
