Description
"Monkey Den. 1st place occupied by Mission in Chaochowfu." Dr Philip Cousland, a medical missionary with the English Presbyterian Mission, began work in Chaozhou in 1888.
Album of photographs collected by Lena Johnston who accompanied Mrs Bell, President of the Women's Missionary Association of the English Presbyterian Mission, on a deputational visit to China in 1911.
