To the right, down 3rd St., is the construction of a new courthouse parking structure. According to the Los Angeles Times, the courthouse was remodeled at a cost of $7.9 million and included new offices for the district attorney and public defender, a new Superior Court room, a new Municipal Court room, clerk's offices, a jury facility and an expanded prisoner holding cell. The refurbished building was rededicated December 19, 1994. The 3.2-million 500-space parking structure opened May1994.
