Photograph caption dated August 12, 1979 reads, "Car's impact point is at rear of house." Linda McManis, 16, of Pacific Palisades and Samuel Reynolds, 17, of Santa Monica were killed when the car they were riding in failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into the home at 17720 Porto Marina Way; the car went over the side of Porto Marina Way, sailed 25-30 feet through the air, and smashed into the house. Driver Michael Wade Lee, 18, of Pacific Palisades and Lorraine Campbell, 16, of Malibu were also critically injured.
