Description
Charles Handy article concerning Greek mythology and management. Handy argues that, as in Greek mythology, which has many gods that change frequently, so must the "managerial cults" of organizational society. Ultimately, Handy concludes that organizations are at a crossroads concerning whether or not they should stay the course toward corporate bigness in spite of signs that such an approach to management may be proving inefficient and expensive in contemporary society. Since scarcity is no longer a problem in an industrialized world, new values and organizational approaches may be necessary moving forward.
